Doug Coyle, MA, MSc, PhD

Dr. Doug Coyle is a Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Community Medicine at the University of Ottawa. Doug obtained his PhD from Brunel University. His research focuses on the methods of conducting economic evaluation of health care interventions. He has published over 100 peer reviewed papers and has taught graduate programs in health economics for over fifteen years.

Doug is a member of the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care’s Committee to Evaluate Drugs and the Drugs for Rare Disease Working Group. As part of the working group, he was instrumental in developing Ontario’s Evaluation Framework for Drugs for Rare Diseases. He currently develops natural history models for rare diseases to assist in the related reimbursement decisions.
